If I were to reflect back at the year and think, "What I have I learned?" What was the best part of 2011?
I've learned to be more compassionate. I've learned to truly listen to others and ask questions.
I've made some wonderful friends who have similar and not so similar problems.
My husband who cares deeply for me and I love him with all my heart.
My puppy who knows when I'm sick and takes action. She owns me.
I've learned to laugh more often. It takes away pain.
I make smarter choices for myself. I'm responsible for my health.
Did I miss anything?

My first
Friday, I met for the first time with my neurologist. I felt like I was stepping back into time. I walked into his office, looked around, and noticed the old fashioned leather medical bag and the bomber jacket hanging from his chair. When were bomber jackets in style? I was all ready concerned before I even sat down and now my blood pressure is starting to rise. The doctor was methodical in his work. He used this thing called a pen and paper to write down his notes. No computer was in sight.
The exam was bizarre also. The blood pressure machine was about 20 years old. I wondered if it was ever calibrated within the past 15 years. He used a piano fork to test my nerves at various points in my body. He used a reflex hammer to test my knees and elbows.
I guess he knows what he is doing. He was recommended to me and now he recommended another doctor. I can't wait to see this doctor....

Tis' the Season
I don't mean any disrespect to any religion but this is how I see Christmas. I know I'm not supposed to talk about religion, politics or who's coming for dinner.
Did I miss something? If I was an outsider looking in (which I am) and discribed Christmas. It would appear to be a shopping holiday and not a religious holiday.
I worked at least 10 years as a retail manager. I see Christmas in a different light. For some people, this brings out the worst in them. They fight for a parking space closer to the door, they are impatient waiting in long lines for the perfect gift, and they will get upset at a drop of a hat. I'm grateful I'm not in retail anymore. I don't think I could hold back my tongue for some of the comments I heard back then.
What is the true meaning of Christmas? Even though it is not my religion, I'm sure it is not the gifts that actually matter. I'm sure its about family, love, and the true beliefs of Christmas.
Besides, don't the children usually end up playing with the boxes the gifts come in?

Why Frog Legs
Why Frog legs one may ask? For one thing it made me laugh and smile. Its also because there is no reason for my posts. I enjoy jumping from one topic to another. I sometimes talk about my disease, Lupus, and sometimes I talk about the naked man running around in my health club. I try to keep you guessing. I hope I can make you smile, maybe think about your life, or just realize life is an adventure.
Enjoy as I build my blog again (debandfriends.blogspot.com). It died a horrible blue death. I can't log back in so we start new. New is good. Change is good...I think.
